[Articles] Perioperative durvalumab plus fluorouracil, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, and docetaxel for resectable gastric and gastro-oesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (MATTERHORN): final results of overall survival and event-free survival by pathological response in a global, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicentre, phase 3 trial

The phase 3 MATTERHORN trial demonstrated that perioperative durvalumab added to FLOT chemotherapy (fluorouracil, leucovorin, oxaliplatin, docetaxel) significantly improved overall survival compared with placebo plus FLOT in patients with resectable gastric or gastro-oesophageal junction adenocarcinoma. The global, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled study also reported event-free survival outcomes stratified by pathological response. Based on these final results, perioperative durvalumab plus FLOT is now considered a new standard treatment option for this patient population.
