A Polish state research institute and the country's reference centre for haematology, operating since 1951. It diagnoses and treats cancers of the blood and lymphatic system — the RPWDL register lists wards for haematopoietic and lymphatic diseases, an intensive haematology care ward, a day-treatment ward, a clinical trials ward, a haematology clinic, a surgical oncology clinic, a Bone Marrow Donor Centre and a cytostatics preparation unit at this address. The institute also carries out national tasks in transfusion medicine.
