Phase II Clinical Study of Adebrelimab and Bevacizumab Combined With Cisplatin/Carboplatin in Patients With Triple-Negative Breast Cancer With Brain Metastases (ABC Study)

★ 6.0 / 10 Journal of Clinical Oncology

A phase II clinical trial published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology evaluated the combination of adebrelimab (an anti-PD-L1 checkpoint inhibitor) and bevacizumab with platinum-based chemotherapy in patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) who developed brain metastases. This patient population represents a particularly challenging clinical scenario with limited effective treatment options and poor prognosis. The ABC study addresses a critical unmet need by testing whether combining immunotherapy with anti-angiogenic therapy and chemotherapy can improve outcomes in this difficult-to-treat setting. Results from this trial may inform future treatment strategies for TNBC patients with central nervous system involvement.
