Rapid patient-specific neural networks for X-ray to volume registration

A tool called xvr uses neural networks to align a patient's plain X-ray with their own three-dimensional scan, quickly and for any region of the body. That alignment underpins image-guided radiotherapy, where it decides whether the beam reaches exactly the intended volume. The authors report no oncology-specific clinical validation, so for now this is a research tool rather than part of routine treatment.
