No Survival Bump in Metastatic NSCLC With Addition of ADC to Immunotherapy

A large randomized trial found that adding the antibody-drug conjugate sacituzumab govitecan (Trodelvy) to immunotherapy did not improve overall survival in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. The negative result is clinically significant because it closes off a combination strategy that had generated considerable interest in the ADC-plus-checkpoint-inhibitor space. The findings suggest that Trop-2-directed ADCs may not add meaningful benefit on top of immune checkpoint blockade in this setting.
